Jemma Hooper (also known as recording artist Arachnoid Flux) is a musician, media composer, songwriter and music producer based in Adelaide Australia.
As part of her trajectory towards becoming a professional media composer, Jemma has joined a few Original Soundtrack (OST) and Game Jams with a view to building out her portolio and caught the bug! Jemma has started learning more about Unity and Blender as a result of this.
Jemma provided the music for Disco Mosh Pit as part of Adelaide Game Dev's Tiny Slam Jam. https://schneed.itch.io/disco-mosh-pit and was working on music for T'ed in AGD's slam-jam 2 when life happened and was unable to integrate the music and SFX she created (and is about to implement now). https://michaelmansongames.itch.io/ted
She also provided music and audio for Double Meter as part of the Game Off 2022 jam. https://nr-njn.itch.io/double-meter
Jemma has also worked on other jams which were unable to submit a workable prototype, which has led to a lot of lessons around team management and work planning in democratic teams.
With a 20+ year career in enterprise IT under her belt, Jemma is familiar with source control paradigms, agile work practices and is very experienced with online collaboration. She is proficient enough to be dangerous in C# (SOLID practices, some familiarity with Go4 patterns) and has a strong background in data management and analytics on the SQL Server platform. Jemma's last IT role was in a Solution/Enterprise Architecture role.
Jemma's exit from IT was a result of the accumulated stress of undiagnosed ADHD, physical disabilities, sleep phase wonkiness and gender transition. She answers happily to she or they pronouns and has no intention of making her gender identity anyone else's issue but her own. ;)
That's it. Have a cracking day and enjoy making games!
